QUALITY MANAGER  
 
Summary:  Our client is a manufacturer of automotive components located South of Detroit.  They are looking for a skilled Quality professional to manage the move to IATF as well as improve their quality system and procedures.  In this role, you will manage a staff of 10-20 quality technicians and ensure PPAPS are created and submitted in a timely fashion. 

NOTE:  Sponsorship is not available for this position.  Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
 
Responsibilities  of the Quality Manager
  • Create the TS/IATF 16949 Quality System and obtain approval/certification.
  • Serve as administrator/management representative of IATF 16949 Quality System.
  • Coordinate and conduct quality audits, document results, implement corrective action.
  • The quality Manager will ensure controls are in place such that all manufactured products conform to all company and industry quality and regulatory agency standards.
  • Ensure plant has appropriate equipment/technology to perform needed measurements/tests.
  • Ensure performance of requested testing from customers and /or standard organizations.
  • Ensure documentation and maintenance of Corrective/Preventative Action Plans, Customer Complaints, and Vendor Complaints.  Responsible for follow up to ensure timely resolution of complaints. 
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating the Quality Manual, and communicating updates within the organization.
  • Assists QC personnel as requested by Technical Services Manager to ensure that quality controls are in process and functioning appropriately.
 
Qualifications for Quality Manager
  • 4 Year degree is preferred, with CQE, CQM preferred
  • 10 years of manufacturing experience, with 3 years of automotive quality experience.
  • 5 years experience as a Quality Manager, Quality Supervisor, or Quality Engineer with direct reports, with strong planning skills, and the ability to establish key metrics and work to achieve your goals.
  • IATF and TS 16949 knowledge, and it is a requirement to have certification and auditing experience with IATF.
  • Strong Process and quality improvement experience with knowledge of 6-Sigma, Kaizen,  SPC and  Process Control (how to measure, track analysis and initiate improvement).  Ability to acquire and analyze data gathered in improvement initiatives.   6-sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Audits, with experience developing and implementing quality audit programs.  Strong knowledge of implementing preventative and corrective actions.
  • PPAP, APQP, Control Plan, SPC, FMEA/PFMEA knowledge.
  • Strong experience creating and maintaining quality manuals.
