We are leading a confidential, exclusive, nation-wide search for a hands-on operations executive with strong knowledge of injection molding.  The ideal candidate will have well-rounded expertise in, and an understanding of typical injection molding markets, tooling, processing, and managing growth. There is a direct and compelling path to Director of Operations for those capable of taking that next step.   This plant does not a dictator - we are looking for a people-focused manager who understands that the employees are the most important part of the business, who always makes time for them and their concerns, who establishes stretch goals with the team, and who also refuses to fail to meet the business objectives.  Company ownership is dynamic and friendly (non-adversarial) and growth is phenomenal.
 
 
 Responsibilities for the Molding Plant Manager
 
  • The Plant Manager will assume operational responsibility for molding, maintenance, engineering, and supply chain initiatives, ensuring that safety, productivity, staffing, utilization, scrap are all at appropriate levels.
  • The Plant Manager will be a hands-on participant in defining future equipment and tooling, and will personally mentor capable team members in the technical and processing aspects. 
  • In conjunction with company executives and key managers, the Plant Manager will establish budgets and strategic plans to accomplish corporate objectives for growth and profitability.
  • The Plant Manager will establish metrics/measurements in conjunction with the team and the executive committee; and will guide and mentor teams to achieve or exceed these goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement as a way of life in the operations, including constantly improving metrics in key areas.
 
Qualifications for Plant Manager
  • A BS degree is preferred, but will consider all candidates with extremely strong knowledge of injection molding processing and operations, particularly with strong medical device experience.
  • 8 years of experience as Plant Manager, Operations Manager, General Manager in a manufacturing operation.
  • At least 5 years experience managing molding operations so that you have a strong understanding of molding processing, tooling, capital equipment, markets, material and equipment suppliers, supply chain strategies, etc.    
  • Strong, metric-driven personality and methodology, and must drive the business for continual improvement of key metrics.  Strong budgeting and finance knowledge.
  • Team-oriented, with strong experience building team-oriented manufacturing and improvement, with years of formal continuous improvement experience.
